About Anne Mortimer R.M.S

Anne

Anne has been a professional artist and illustrator for over 30 years and still finds the excitement of creating a new piece of artwork as fresh today as when she was studying Natural History Illustration at Dyfed College of Art, Wales.

"My creativity comes alive when I see a new pattern of colour. It could be a mosaic from Ancient Greece, an American quilt or simply a piece of fabric on a market stall. However, the biggest influence on my work has to be Nature. Every day when I walk my dog along the coast path I see ready-made compositions, patterns and colour variations. Nature ask's nothing except our connection to it's wonder and being.

A journalist once wrote of me: "Like the poet William Blake she sees a world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower". Nature is truly my inspiration"
